The FSC Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month. 

Fall Recreation Team and Little Kicker Registration is closed.  Registration for the spring season will begin in October.

Fall Recreation and Little Kicker season will begin on September 11th.  Play dates are:  September 11, 18, and 25. October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.

Goals For Development

The recreation program introduces both the players and families to soccer and attempts to achieve the following goals for each player.

1. Self Confidence

  • Demonstrate and reinforce individual abilities
  • Encourage participation
  • Demonstrate value as player and member of a team

3. Skills of Game

  • Fundamentals: Passing, Dribbling, Shooting, and Throw-ins
  • Tactical application of fundamentals:
  • Thinking: learn to watch game, know when to dribble, pass, or shoot
  • Work together to maintain control of ball

2. Demonstrate the value of working as a team

  • Earning the team’s trust and confidence
  • Trusting individual and team member’s abilities
  • Helping each other helps the team

4. Strategies of the Game

  • Playing positions
  • Moving the ball up the field
  • Situational Strategies: Know where to be and what to do during Kick offs, corner kicks, penalty shots, etc.

As players skills increase, and at the appropriate age, the emphases placed in each of the three areas are appropriately adjusted. (U6 will have less emphasis on tactics and strategies than U10s).

U6 to U-7 - Co-ed Rule Changes for U6 - U7

  • No Goalkeeper: Coaches will be educated that a defender is expectable even if that defender is close to the goal.
  • There shall be a defined corner arc
  • All games shall switch sides at half
  • Goals can not be altered (e.g. Flags, signs)
  • All other rules, where not in conflict shall remain the same or follow FIFA laws.

Objective: Provide players opportunity to touch the ball as much as possible. Coaches and parents foster a fun atmosphere for all the kids. Emphasis is on fun!

Practices are Coach led once a week, 45 minutes to an hour (coach’s discretion based on player stamina). Optional: Skills Night once a week.

U8 Co-ed Field size shall be increased to 50x35. Field markings shall be a typical, however adjusted for field size. There shall be 6 players (5 and a Goalkeeper) Game time shall be 12min quarters; 2min breaks with 5 min half All other rules shall be follow FIFA laws.

Objective: Provide players opportunity to touch the ball as much as possible. Coaches and parents foster a fun atmosphere for all the kids. Players are introduced to field positions and development of team play. Playing to win is introduced, however individual participation and team spirit is the goal.

Practices are Coach led once or twice a week, min 1 hour.

U-9, and U10 Co-ed Objective: Players are introduced to a higher level of competitiveness. Age appropriate tactics and strategies are introduced. Individual participation and team spirit is stressed, working as a team to win the game is the goal.

Practices are Coach led twice a week, 1.5 hours each.

U-12 Boys and U-12 Girls is the primary focus, Co-ed permitted Objective: Players are introduced to a higher level of competitiveness, but separated according to gender. Age appropriate tactics and strategies are introduced. Individual participation and team spirit is stressed, working as a team to win the game is the goal.

Practices are Coach led twice a week, 1.5 hours.

Our Facilities: We have one centralized complex off of Ramsey Street near the Methodist University. There are eight full size fields, a concessions stand and restrooms, and all of our fields are fully developed with irrigation systems. Phased in rule changes (To be implemented Fall 2009)

  • Addition of a U5 age group
  • U7 to move to same field size and rules as U8
  • U9 Field size reduced to 60x40yrds with 8 players (7 and a Goalkeeper)
  • Birth certificates shall be required: All players shall play in their age group (All girl teams will no longer be able to play down in age. All players may play up if desired
